Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubuntu-artwork

The LegacyHuman theme is not as clean as it was in Dapper or Breezy anymore. Now it has a light colored line between the titlebar and the gtk+ theme on all unselected windows.

I'm pretty sure the reason is the original LegacyHuman theme was made for clearlooks engine before clearlooks switched to Cairo hence a few settings in the non-cairo theme are missing. Probably just need to re-port LegacyHuman from the latest clearlooks theme to fix this.

Note: moving to Cairo made the otherwise fast clearlooks engine perform quite a bit slower which affects legacyhuman. Not sure what can be done about this though.

I created a new port from the Clearlooks engine using the original LegacyHuman colors where possible. Below is a screenshot of the new look and the modified gtkrc is attached. I haven't tested it thoroughly but it seems to be working fine so far.

Bug #67548 is a duplicate of this one. Some additional information can be found there as well as another screenshot (http://gamingw.net/pubaccess/28695/layoutchanges.png) that shows visual brokenness (is that a word?)

Okay, nice port! But, I would like to see one thing though: maybe you could utilize the Scrollbar Color option? That could add an interesting update to the theme...

Good idea. I´m traveling at the moment but ´ll have a look at doing that when I return.

This port should preferably just aim to be as close to the original as possible without going through "updates", I believe. Unless I'm mistaken about Viper550's message.

If we do this, it would actually be a good accessibility tweak, it would make the scrollbar more obvious looking (instead of blending in with the surroundings), if we choose a nice color of course!

If you think we should, you should probably raise the issue in a separate bug report to keep this one from going off-topic.

I tested Chuck's patch and it indeed seems to solve both the widget problems and the inactive title-bar stripe.

Is this resolved? Can we apply the changes? Chuck, if you still have the patch handy, email me personally and we can work out the push to bzr.

Thanks.

I think it'd be enough to copy http://librarian.launchpad.net/4564288/gtkrc in.

Agreed, the gtkrc file linked above should do it. I don't have a machine to test on right now. If others do, that would be appreciated.
