failed to upgrade to edgy with unofficial kde 3.53 dapper packages

Bug Description

When trying to upgrade to edgy, "update-manager -c -d" failed.
I suspect it is because I added once the following line to /etc/apt/sources.list:

deb http://kubuntu.org/packages/kde-353 dapper main

update-manager disables this repository before trying to upgrade and has trouble with the packages that were installed from there.

Thank you for your bug report. Can you please try to upgrade after commenting that repo out and all other non-official repos. Than run sudo apt-get update. than try the upgrade command. or you can while you are in the sources.list file change all dappers to edgy and comment all unofficial repos plus the kde one. kubuntu on edgy is a higher version than the one on dapper so it might be conflicting.

Thanks for your bugreport.

Some of these 3rd party packages conflict with the official packages in the repository. That makes the upgrade impossible. I will try to look into it in more detail, but currently I can only give it a low priority because of time constrains.

Cheers,
 Michael

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately we can't fix it, as Ubuntu Edgy Eft is no longer supported. If you can reproduce this issue using Hardy Heron, you can reopen the bug report by clicking on the current status, under the Status column, and changing the Status back to "New". Thanks again!
