Bug Description

after upgrading to edgy from dapper via repos, i reinstalled the fglrx driver, kernel, xserver, and all. fglrxinfo command returns the mesa display and no direct rendering. these did work fine in dapper.

I confirm this error.

I install edgy Beta2. I install fglrx(edgy version).

Fglrx don't work.

 fglrxinfo
Xlib: extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display ":0.0".
display: :0.0 screen: 0
OpenGL vendor string: Mesa project: www.mesa3d.org
OpenGL renderer string: Mesa GLX Indirect
OpenGL version string: 1.2 (1.5 Mesa 6.5.1)

This bug is the same as #60422.

 Add this to xorg.conf to resolve the problem:

Section "Extensions"
        Option "Composite" "0"
EndSection

Same problem here. I suspect the fglrx module has not been caught up
with the kernel release yet. May have wait a few days :(

Still fails. It is still installing an old version of fgrlx (7.1.0) and
Xorg is 7.1.1.

Same problem here, after successful upgrade from dapper to edgy, on ati radeon x1600. I get mesa on fglrxinfo, even though composite is set to off.

Closing, since 6.10 is EOL. Fglrx supports composite nowadays anyway.
