Bug Description

Binary package hint: update-manager

When upgrading using the steps shown at: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/EdgyEft/Beta

The following error is returned during the 'Fetching and Installing the upgrades' step: -
'Could not calculate the upgrade

A unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade.

Please report this bug against the 'update-manager' package and include the files in /var/log/dist-upgrade/ in the bugreport.'

Note: that should be changed to, 'An unresolvable problem...' Correct English and all that. :-) Have attached the files, as the dialog box requested.

The easiest, and stable, workaround is to backup data, format and start again with a clean Edgy install.

Can't install ubuntu-desktop, unofficial repositories, xgl/compiz repository, seems similar to bug #63205.
Remove problematic packages and try to reinstall them.

Bug 63205 has been rejected so I reject also this one.
The xgl/compiz repository you use isn't official so this bug can't be confirmed as a bug in Ubuntu.
Anyway thank you for your report and feel free to report any further bug.
