Does "sudo apt-get -f install" fix it? If not can you please provide the output of the command.

The current situation for hdate-applet in edgy is that it depends on libecal1.2-3 which was replaced with libecal1.2-7.
A rebuild would fix it if it didn't build-depend on libhdate-dev which waits on fp-compiler to be built. fpc (source package for fp-compiler) needs bootstrapping on the buildds (see bug 2253).

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.

Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
user-he: Depends: firefox-locale-he but it is not installable
Depends: hdate-applet but it is not installable
E: Broken packages

nireut@nireut-desktop:~$ sudo apt-get -f install

The firefox-locale-he problem could be fixed by syncing from Debian.

But the hdate-applet one is very hard to fix. It's build depends on libhdate-dev. The build of libhdate-dev depends on fp-compiler, which is provided by fpc. But the build of fpc is blocked by a missing dependency on fp-compiler. So we are running in a circle. I already tried to remove the build-dependencies on fp-* but I can not run debuild -S. I am going to create a bug against fpc.

Martin, I'm assiging to myself to do the rebuild and test once fpc is fixed. I would also be able to actually verify hebrew text is working ;-)

since the new user-he from debian does not depend anymore on firefox-locale-he, only a sync from debian is required for user-he.

This has just been fixed excepting for powerpc. The powerpc install is blocked because of bug 67544.
