Bug Description
Binary package hint: update-manager
After the recent release of updates to openssh-client - selecting that package to view changes causes X to crash out to text mode screen. GDM then restarts it.

I can confirm this.
You don't even need to select it manually as the package is the first one and gets selected automatically. Thus, when the update icon in the Gnome panel gets clicked, after update-manager loads, as soon as it tries to display changes for openssh-client, X crashes.
This isn't the first time that this has happened to me, a few old updates did this as well. And only viewing certain packages will trigger the crash.
