Bug Description

Binary package hint: update-notifier

When update-notifier notifies me that there are new updates available, the tooltip is placed a little too left than it should be. My screen resolution is 1680x1050 and I'm using fglrx. I have HP NC8430 laptop and I am using Edgy Eft.

Just to show what I mean, here's a screenshot: http://users.volja.net/aksaks/screenshot-tooltip_edgy.png

Thanks for your bugreport.

Does this always happens? Or only sometimes? Could you please run (in a terminal):
$ killall update-notifier
$ update-notifier

and tell me if it gets the correct location then?

Thanks,
 Michael

The location is not correct not even with those commands executed. And this happens all the time, whenever new updates are available.

Thanks for your bugreport.

the latest update-notifier in gutsy uses a GtkStatusIcon. That makes the position calculation much more reliable. Please reopen if your experience this problem again.

Thanks,
 Michael
