Network stalls when downloading torrents

Bug Description

When using gnome-btdownload to download a torrent file, the network appears to stall, halting all IP traffic until a '/etc/init.d/networking restart' is issued. There are no apparent error messages in any log files that appear to be related and I can only recreate this while downloading torrent files. Anyone else seen this sort of behavior? It wasn't present in Dapper.

By default, bittorrent in any flavor uses all available upload bandwidth. Can you try capping yours (on the Upload tab)?

I have the upload bandwidth capped at 3 KB/s and maximum concurrent uploads capped at 1. These don't seem to affect the behavior and I can now confirm this on two different edgy systems on different torrents. All network activity ceases (can't ping, traceroute, etc) and I can only get it back by restarting the network.

And, just to be consistent, can you test with one of the Ubuntu torrents listed here?:

And are you sure there's nothing else running on your network, e.g. mounted network shares, network services? The more vanilla we can get things, the better.
