I had no trouble installing a theme directly with the install button. With me, the crash only occured when trying to download through 'Download Only'.

Confirmed. There is no "install" option available for login manager themes though, the button is disabled so the only option is "Download Only" yet clicking this causes the art manager to crash.

why is this bug's status still "unconfirmed"?

Confirming that this still is valid in 7.10 : Install option for login manager themes is not enabled.

Very annoying.

This is still occurring to date. It occurs only with login screens and crashes on any selection once "DOWNLOAD" is hit.

This has been solved and I believe it can be closed. Can this be confirmed by anyone? I am on Hardy Beta.

This is also confirmed in 7.10 current/stable release.

Actually, it's still happening on my 8.10: 'Install' button is disabled

I have attempted to reproduce:
- Install the gnome-art package 0.2-8ubuntu2 on Hardy 8.04.
- From the Gnome Art "Art->Other Themes" menu click on "Login Manager".
- After downloading 148 themes to populate the list, observe the buttons at the bottom
- The Install button is disabled, the Download and Preview buttons are enabled.
- Select any theme and the "Download Background" dialog comes up for you to select a download location.
- Proceed with the download of the .tar.gz file which completes successfully.
