usplash should be able to show bootup messages

Bug Description

When running usplash it is impossible to see bootup messages by pressing an escape key.
It could be useful to have the ability to display such messages if something doesn't go right, as other types of bootsplash do.

This is a feature not a bug. if you want usplash to show scrolling test please remove the work quite out of the kernel boot options in /boot/grub/menu.lst

Not to have a key to switch on the messages as every other distro has is a feature?
