Bug Description
Binary package hint: gdm
Ubuntu 6.10 Beta "Edgy Eft" - GDM caps lock bug.
How to reproduce:
1) Power on your PC.
2) Before Ubuntu loads, press caps lock on the keyboard to enable the caps lock.
3) When GDM appears it warns "caps lock enabled", but when you write into the "username field", it writes lowercase (it should write uppercase because there's caps lock enabled). If you press caps lock to disable the caps lock, it writes uppercase (it should write lowercase because caps lock is disabled!) and in both these situations the ENTER key doesn't work (I press ENTER on the keyboard and nothing happens) so you can't login.

Do you still have that bug. Did you do any change to activate capslock on boot by some way? What gdm theme do you use? Do you boot with the graphical splash screen? When pressing during caps lock the boot, on an edgy installation on my laptop, there is no message about caps lock on the gdm screen
