LTSP problem with KDM

Bug Description

I have a Dapper Kubuntu installation upgraded from Breezy.

I have LTSP 4.2 installed direct from LTSP.org not via Kubuntu packages as I have been running it here for a long time.

Since upgrade to Dapper had many problems with KDM. Some fixed but still a terrible memory leak.

Also when a user logs off a remote terminal the local machine (my desktop) switches to the boot splash screen. Alt-F7 returns to my desktop. This is rather annoying and new behaviour for me.

Andres Mujica reports same behaviour on Bug #47455.

marked the ltsp part as duplicate and assigned the kdm part to kdebase, probably filing a separate bug against KDM would make more sense though.

Dear Oliver,

I'm not sure I can agree with the assignment of a duplicate bug 39294 as the
switching of displays occurs on the server not on the thinclients. Sorry for
confusing the semantics.

I looked at the bug report you mentioned and I am not running usplash inthe
thinclients and found no sign at all of the init scripts that were suggested
to be changed.

Still puzzled.

ok, then its not a bug with ubuntus ltsp :)
please file it against ltsp-4.2 at ltsp.org if you really think its related to their ltsp (which i very much doubt, since neither of the ltsp implementations can influence the servers display manager)
