Mouse cursor does not hide in gmplayer in gl, gl2, sdl vo modes

Bug Description

Binary package hint: mplayer

I am using Ubuntu 6.06, current mplayer and everything, proprietary drivers on my ati radeon express 200m.

The standard mplayer command works properly in all cases tested. However, the gmplayer command does not hide the mouse cursor in the gl, gl2, or sdl vo modes. The mouse cursor is properly hidden in the x11 mode, and I have not tested any others (they don't work at all).

I can confirm this with Ubuntu 6.10, either with the (g)mplayer that's in the depository or the latest version of mplayer that I compiled myself.

Maybe it's a issue with mplayer itself and not Ubuntu?

I can confirm it on 7.04.

A workaround is to move the cursor in a corner.

Hi there
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release?

Thanks in advance.

Hi there
could you please check if this still happens in the development version of Ubuntu, Hardy Heron.

Thanks in advance

Confirmed on Kubuntu 8.04 "Hardy". This happens only if OpenGL is used as the renderer (gl and gl2).

I have the same problem with mplayer 2:1.0~rc2-0ubuntu19 from Ubuntu 9.04. Upgrading to mplayer 2:1.0~rc3+svn20090426-1ubuntu1 from Ubuntu 9.10 solves this problem. You can grab this package for Ubuntu 9.04 from the MOTU Media PPA: https://launchpad.net/~motumedia/+archive/ppa

So I am closing this bug. If you still have the problem with mplayer from Ubuntu 9.10, please reopen this bug report. To reopen the bug report you can click on the current status, under the Status column, and change the Status back to "Confirmed". Thanks!

I can confirm this bug in 9.10 Karmic RC. Both i386 and amd64 version are affected, tested with nv and nvidia drivers from repositories. All modes I can run (xv, gl, gl2, x11) are affected.

please don't reopen old bugs but rather open new bugs with the
'report-bug' tool. this will attach additional information that usually
are pretty helpful for developers.
