This is not gnome-mplayer, but mplayer with the gtk interface. Please move bug to appropriate package.

moved, thanks.

The maverick no longer ships the package, so the lucid-provided libraries are no longer around and this causes the program to fail.

affects: gnome-mplayer (Ubuntu) → mplayer (Ubuntu)

It is interesting that natty does provide the package, hopefully with updated dependencies:
http://packages.ubuntu.com/natty/mplayer-gui

Can someone from the early-upgraders verify that it works in natty and close the bug if so?
