Bug Description

Binary package hint: netbeans

I upgraded to Maverick today, and had Netbeans 6.8 installed before. When I first started Netbeans 6.9, it asked me to import 6.8 config data. I confirmed that and got the message, that the file "/usr/share/netbeans/6.9/etc/netbeans.import" could not be found. I then copied that file from netbeans.org, which fixed the error message, but the import itself didn't work correctly (none of the settings were imported).

Just to clarify: Yes, I already did an aptitude purge netbeans && aptitude install netbeans to be sure that it was no upgrade issue.

What is missing is symbolic link to netbeans.import.
You can create one with this command in terminal:
sudo ln -s /etc/netbeans.import /usr/share/netbeans/6.9/etc/netbeans.import
Then import will work. Don't forget to install plugins you are using. It will ask you to do taht in 10-15 seconds after running Netbeans. Then you have to restart the IDE.

There is no netbeans.import there either.

I also ran into this on upgrade and the file list of the package does not include the symlink (symlinks for other Netbeans conffiles in /etc are included), so marking confirmed.

I also ran into this bug except that I do have a /etc/netbeans.import and creating a symlink to this file as suggested by Alex worked for me.

Same issue. Alex's solution did the trick.

I confirm that. Symlink has fixed the issue and upgrade was ok.

It fixed the problem for me also :) Only thing I then had to do was re open all my projects. Thanks Alex.
