I have been trying to use the Live CD option for Ubuntu 6.06 on my G3
Clamshell iBook to see if things work before doing a full install. However,
I run into the following problem:
Can't allocate initial device-tree chunk

Welcome to Open Firmware
To continue booting, type "mac-boot" and press return.
To shut down, type "shut-down" and press returnt.
When I type "mac-boot" I see
> ok
> 0> mac-boot
> DEFAULT CATCH!, code=3 at %SRR0: 016fdd1c %SRR1: 00003030
> ok

Then nothing happens.
I had read on the Forums that there was a kernel problem in running 6.06 on
a G3 iBook and was wondering if this has been fixed yet, or if I should give
up trying to run Ubuntu on this machine.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Thanks in advance.
Can you try with the latest gutsy releasE?
