Working on getting beta installed still.
This dmesg is for knot 3.

There's no indication of any problems in the logs - both your wireless and your ethernet are found by the kernel. What precise problem are you having? What does

sudo ifconfig -a

show?

I'm inclined to believe this is simply local to your system:

1) You did not get linux-restricted-modules in your upgrade. This would cause 3945 to not work. Run "sudo apt-get install linux-generic"

2) You need to move your bcm43xx firmware to /lib/firmware/ (and not in some version specific subdirectory). This would cause bcm43xx to not work.

Changed in linux-source-2.6.17:
status: Unconfirmed → Rejected

Ben - Not sure what you mean by local to my system. I didn't get this from an upgrade. This is from a clean install...on knot 2 and knot 3.

If it is linux-restricted-modules...why does it work in dapper automatically and not edgy? This is important because it is rather difficult to apt-get when I have no functional network devices.

sudo ifconfig -a only shows the local loopback device. That is all.

Plz reopen.

Okay, I formated and installed Edgy Beta. I am in it right now, and my Broadcom eth0 is working again, so something must have changed since Knot 3. It appears my wireless is alive too...though it doesn't show up with 'ifconfig', it does show up with 'ifconfig -a' or 'iwconfig.' So everything looks okay now.
