missing the rest of the filesystem from file dialog

Bug Description

Binary package hint: kde-core

When trying to create an NFS partition and again when trying to point Amarok at an NFS partition there is no way to actually see the entire filesystem (in this case, specifically /mnt), only /home and /media.

If this is a usability idea then something needs to be done to allow people to get to view the entire FS if desired.

Yes, this is usability improvement in Edgy - for more details, see:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KubuntuKDEMedia

You have two options to see all files:
- temporary: in file browser press F8 (or right-click -> View -> Show Hidden Files)
- permanent: remove/change /.hidden and /media/.hidden files

Rejecting as this is by design.

Changed in meta-kde:
importance: Undecided → Wishlist
status: Unconfirmed → Rejected

Should this still be the default behaviour even when a user has entered an advanced dialogue like the file system configuration one and is admin mode? at the very least for this dialogue /mnt should be visible by default.
