Bug Description

Binary package hint: cdrecord

cdrecord: Probably trying to use ultra high speed medium on improper writer.

-> Concerning the last test, the disk is Ultra High Speed, which should work according to the -pcap (only ultra high speed+ shouldn't work). Anyhow, I can live with the fact that the last one doesn't work. But I can't live with the fact that the first two tests failed. One of the cd's was brand new, a previous cd-rw has already been used (on the same laptop/drive under debian unstable).

Note this laptop is a toshiba tecra s2, running edgy.

The first media was an unknown 2-4x CD-RW, the second a low quality high speed medium.

This definitely cannot be a problem from cdrecord as the drive clearly complains
about not being able to do OPC.

The report does not mention DVDs and the modified cdrecord variant used for the
report does not support to write DVDs.

If you like to write DVDs, please upgrage to a recent cdrecord version from gutsy/multiverse.

Just a note: This drive is a Matsushita. Unless you bought a Toshiba notebook with a
Matsishita drive, is makes no sense to complain to Toshiba.

We should close the bug as it is related to the drive/media combination.
