Bug Description
Binary package hint: gnome-panel
I was told about this bug in Edgy and I reproduced it on my own Edgy box (up-to-date, French locale).
-> Select or create an application launcher in the gnome-panel (for instance, Evolution)
-> Right-click on it to "Properties", delete the "comments" field, and click "Close"
-> Comments are still here and weren't erased
But if you enter something in the "comments" field, even a blank space, the comments are properly edited.

Thanks for your bug. Marking as wishlist because that's really a corner case. The bug might be due to the language package change, if somebody wants to forward it upstream it would be a good idea to test on an another distribution with GNOME 2.16 to be sure
