Bug Description
Binary package hint: usplash
usplash is not working for me on Edgy .(latest updates from apt) It doesn't work both during boot and shutdown.
For example, during boot, the console remains empty for sometime until the first boot messages start to appear (still in "pure console" mode), and then the login screen is shown.
For reference (I'm not sure whether this is hardware specific), my VGA card is a "NVIDIA NV44 (GeForce 6200 TurboCache)" and I have a 17'' LCD monitor.
