Bug Description

After doing a dist-upgrade from Dapper to Edgy, the home page settings in Firefox are lost. Specifically, the "Home Page" setting in Edit->Prefs is blank (whereas I believe it used to be a static Ubuntu file from teh doc team).

(The Edit->Prefs->When-Firefox-starts field is still set to "show my home page")

The resulting behaviour is that when starting Firefox the start page is simply blank, and clicking the home icon when on another page has no effect.

Hi. Thanks for your bug report.

Are you using a localized firefox?

Today (Oct 20) was released a update to mozilla-firefox-locale-* that fixes that issue.

Try another update and tell us if the home page is back.

Yes, the homepage is back, so it is effectively fixed for me. I can't confirm if it's fixed for someone doing a dist-upgrade for the first time, as I can't test that.

I can confirm that. It happened with me too. The bug itself is fixed. Actually, this one is duplicate of bug 66977.
