Bug Description

Binary package hint: debian-installer

In Edubuntu 6.10, Edubuntu relies on the installation of two network cards for dhcpd auto-setup.

I have tested this on a computer with two detected network cards, installing the 17 October daily build, and the setup still gives an error about not being able to choose an interface for dhcpd, and informs me that I have to edit dhcpd.conf manually.

whats the IP range your dhcp server gives out, or if you configure the Net manually, whats the IP address you gave your external interface ?

I disabled my dhcp server. Also, I skipped network config from d-i since I thought it would be auto-configured later. From our IRC discussion, I understand that the entire network stack is disabled in d-i after network config is skipped, which is why the auto-config failed.

Closing bug.

well, the code is designed to configure *the second* interface. if it cant find a first interface it will skip that step and warn the user that there is stuff left for manual configuration. the text should probably be more descritive.
