progress bar flickers

Bug Description

The usplash progress bar flickers whenever it's updated. I guess this is because of the code in t_draw_progressbar() which draws the entire background and then puts the progress bar on it, instead of drawing only the visible part of the background.

The attached patch stops the flickering when the progress bar is updated, by drawing only the visible part of the background.

Is this still relevant? I had considered filing this bug, but to be honest, I haven't noticed the flickering for a while.

Job got in the way and I lacked time to do this properly. Feisty+1 will
see it unless I suddenly find time and the freeze is lifted (unlikely
since the patch is not uninvasive.

That's cool. I hope you didn't think I was being pushy, I was just merely observing that it seems to have gotten better since I first noticed it - obviously a placebo effect. :)

I marked this as a duplicate of https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/205854 even though this is older since I have a proposed fix there. I accidentally registered the flickering as a bug of usplash instead of usplash-theme-ubuntu and thus missed this bug report.
