Bug Description
Problem:
Translations of strings that have duplicates appear untranslated in Ubuntu. This affects especially very visible strings and makes Rosetta unusable as a primary infrastructure for translating OpenOffice.org See bug #60570 for details.
Reason:
Upstream has been using the msgid_comments (as described in http://
msgid "~Open"
in Rosetta, but
msgid "_: GenericCommands
"Label.
"~Open..."
upstream. msgmerge is not able to merge the different strings together.
Proposed fix:
Create the templates for OOo in Rosetta using the --duplicates=

Alternatively, do not use the POTs from upstream when merging back from Rosetta into Ubuntu, but use
--duplicates=merge
when creating the POT from en-US.sdf before merging the translations from Rosetta with them.
