Bug Description

For home user backup, I am going to need to create GUIDS/UUIDS from python for the purpose of matching meta data files with backup files in a uniquely identified way.

It seems that this module is missing from our packaging of egenix. I was able to download it from http://www.egenix.com/files/python/egenix-mx-experimental-0.9.0.tar.gz

can we add then mxUID to our distribution? they would enable easy and efficient UUID creation from python.

If there is already another set of modules, possibly built-ins in pythin that achive then plesae let me know or reject this bug.
