Bug Description
Hi.
Today I just downloaded this new Ubuntu release for my computer, a Quicksilver G4 933 Mhz with 2MB L3 cache.
MD5sum for the cd image is correct.
I burned it with two different applications, in two different disks (obviously) and in both cases, when booting up (splash screen came up, this isn't a video issue) it spits out an error (in console 1, not the one with the splash screen):
Buffer I/O Error in device /dev/hdc (the cdrom) at sector ######.
I don't remember the sectors, but they were different for each burn.
I checked the MD5sums of all the disk contents, according to the file provided in the CD, and they're OK.
I intepret this as an error while reading the CD, but it's an error of the original CD image available to download i think, as in two different burns happened the same thing.
Hope this helps.
I'm really eager to try this new Ubuntu release.
See ya.
Sorry. My fault.
It appears it was either a download problem or a burn problem.
This is fixed, it runs perfectly on ppc.
Hope I didn't bother you.
See ya.
