Slow boot times With SATA 2

Bug Description

using a SATA 2 200Gig HD as root and boot partition, noticed it took a long time to mount root during boot on dapper (about 30 secs). installed edgy and now have about 1 min to mount root.

After the updates over the last couple of days the time to mount root has reduced and the problem has been fixed.
