[Edgy]dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg fail to detect hardware

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg

when execute dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg, (debconf?) detect a vesa card and generic monitor, when always detect the card and the monitor, at the instalation no were problems.

I've tested too in my laptop, and there was the same problem, is a serious bug, a very serious bug because the user can make not working his X session.

Laptop is amilo with ATI 9700 mobile

The problem is serious, the system DON'T INSTALL discover(discover1), and them the debconf system don't detect the hardware, this problem can affect a lot of packets...

I have encountered the same problem. In Dapper it works fine, but in Edgy not. This is a really annoying bug.
