Bug Description

Binary package hint: acpi-support

If I suspend my Thinkpad X60s to memory when running on AC and unplug it before resuming, it often does not resume properly. The machine will turn on but the screen won't, and the green moon continues to blink. If I am able to plug it in, I can usually get it to finish resuming by switching back and forth between AC and battery a couple of times. Otherwise I have to reboot.

I should also mention that this happens if I am running on battery, suspend, switch to AC, and resume.

Can you attach the output of lspci

Here is the lspci output. This also happened with Breezy. I did a fresh install for Edgy (keeping my home directory), so I don't think it is due to any configuration that I have done.

Marking this as a duplicate, because this machine is also having problems resuming from suspend on an Intel video chipset.

I am starting to doubt that my bug is the same as the Intel video bug that it is marked as a duplicate of. I think it might be a SMP/ACPI interaction bug. As reported before, I can almost always get the machine to resume if I toggle between AC and battery several times. Once resumed, I have the following messages in an open console:

The 18 month support period for Edgy Eft 6.10 has reached its end of life. As a result, we are closing the linux-source-2.6.17 Edgy Eft kernel task. However, development has already began for the upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. It would be helpful if you could test the upcoming release and verify if this is still an issue - http://www.ubuntu.com/testing . If the issue still exists, please update this report by changing the Status of the "linux" task from "Incomplete" to "New". We appreciate your patience and understanding as we make this transition. Thanks!
