Edgy Final: BenQ FP91+ no longer recognized

Bug Description

Dapper correctly recognized my monitor as a BenQ FP91+ (even got the name right) with a maximum resolution of 1280x1024.

Edgy only shows it as "generic monitor" with a max. resolution of 1024x768.

Editing xorg.conf or running dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg and manually entering the desired resolution fixes the problem.

Was this a clean install of Edgy Final?

Clean=fresh install, no upgrade.

I installed Edgy using the final live-cd and formated my dapper /-partition and swap-partition in the process.

The only partition I reused, which has not been formated, is my /home-partition.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Could you please add your '/etc/X11/xorg.conf' file and your '/var/log/Xorg.0.log' file as attachments to your bug report? Thanks in advance.

I no longer have the original files, nor do I have an Edgy-CD. But here are the latest versions of the files, anyway. Hope they help. The system is still Edgy.

Please try running without xorg.conf, is the correct resolution detected then? Also, try using xrandr (man xrandr) to change it while logged in.

This should be fixed in hardy alpha2 anyway, closing the bug.
