Bug Description

After upgrade to edgy,

on the disklessworkstation the screen is garbled but still readable; for instance, in Gcompris, each time the 'happy face' shows up, right after that the happpy face leaves stripes in the area it appeared.

Also, the menu bar of gcompris is garbled.

The splash screen for ubuntu on the TC is garbled.

None of those problems appear on the Compaq Deskpro.

question: I didn't reboot the server after the upgrade. Is it necesary to do so ?

It says 'LTSP-T150' on a sticker, and 'LTSP-Term 150' on the box, and on another sticker it says TK-3350

Film of boot process.

Although not very sharp footage, you can see the mangled gnome splash screen (just before we get a full screen gnome desktop) and you can see the long delay at 'black screen wih just an X'.

Also you can hear sounds (I disabled nobeep in esd startup) and you can see that gcompris has no sound

Solved after all: a hardware problem. I swappen thin clients and all was good on the spare one. And on the original one, with a different screen, kb and mouse, the problem appeared again. So it's hardware.

Unfortunately, it is NOT related to hardware.

On the disklessworkstation Term150 the Gnome splash screen is garbled - but not always. If it is, applications like gcomris are also garbled.

the 150 as well as the 170 dont support 24bit colors very well, use X_COLOR_DEPTH=16 in lts.conf, it will solve it.

since there was no further feedback for quite some time, i'll close this one assuming its working with 16bit colors. feel free to reopen if i'm wrong
