Bug Description

After System Startup i only saw the "crash agent" reporting this bug.
(first attached my crash report to another bug that also reported about crashing on startup, but i was told to open a new one by Daniel Holbach, as mine is another error)

The crash-log can be found here:

I think I mentioned it in the other bug report: I think this is gaim crushing on shutting the machine down - apport pops up with the crash report on the next login.

Could it be that docklet_remove() is called during shutdown?

Hi,

I appens a comment on another similar bug report. Note that I'm experiencing the same behavior on my laptop + ubuntu edgy, with skype 1.3.0... Maybe this is not specific to gaim.

I've experienced the same behaviour. Not sure if it's exactly the same error, as I'm not used to read core dumps. I hope this is the right thread, as you can find a couple if you search for "startup". Gaim was running on system shutdown, on startup i got the crash report. No skype here. What was a bit weird: First startup didn't work, the system seemed to be frozen. I had to push the power button, even "Ctrl-Alt-SysReq + RSEIUB" didn't work. But that might not be related.

I get the same behaviour. I also think it is a crash on shutdown, as I only get a crash report whilst Gaim still is running.

Same thing here: every time I start Ubuntu, I have a crash report.
So it must be a crash on shutdown, because Gaim is working correctly after startup.

Similar issue here. I see a crash notifier on startup. I only log on to yahoo.

I have the same problem.
Gaim starts when I log in. It happens nearlly at every start up. But gaim seems to work correctly. I log on to icq, msn and jabber. For details see the attached file.

GAIM crashes whenever I try to start it. I have accounts on all major IM services, and GAIM autologons to them all, so I have no idea if the crash is specific to one of them. Because of the crash on startup, I cannot get to the accounts dialog to try turning some of them off.

In any case, I've included my crash report.

I'm experiencing same problems. Core dump. There are already so many bug-reports filed, do you want the output that I collected anyway?

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Thanks in advance. Please test the same with Pidgin.
