can't install chrome

I tried to reproduce this bug, but failed.
Can you please answer the following question.
Which application you are trying to install?
Is Software Center freezing on installing any application?

I got "The package is of bad quality" message.
The following was reported when I tried to install google-chrome-stable_current_i386.deb

This happened to me too when on a fresh installed system with the latest updates.

Software-center seemed to start installing chrome after I authanticated, but then it froze. Then after a while if unfroze but without chrome being installed and software-center didn't seem to be working with anything. So I clicked install again and software-center froze just as before. After unfreezing this time I had two installation processes of google chrome going on, I canceled the one that was waiting but this canceled both installations. Chrome did appear in the main menu at this point though, but software-center still indicated that it hadn't been installed.

Similar problems happened on another computer with natty too and neither of them had any problems with maverick so this is a regression.

[Expired for software-center (Ubuntu) because there has been no activity for 60 days.]

Why is this bug "expired"? It's still an issue on a ubuntu 11.04 system with the latest updates as of today and the latest chrome deb.

I have verified that I can install the latest version of the Google Chrome .deb from Google using Ubuntu Software Center 5.1.14.1 in Ubuntu Precise Beta 2. Therefore, I'll close this.

If anybody still encounters trouble with this, please reopen and note it here.
