Gaim currently uses the 'Application font' from Font prefs to display conversations & text I type.

Hmm, that's interesting. Our conversation widget inherits from GtkTextView, so it seems like we should just inherit the font from that. Unless we're overriding it or something.
I'm not really sure how gtk font stuff works, but if we switched to using the document font, what would happen for people with gtk < 2.10? I guess we'd need to special-case it?
