Bug Description

The qlogicpti SCSI driver is not available during installation on SPARC. This controller also goes by the name 'Sun Ultra Differential SCSI' and is common on the larger SBUS UltraSPARCs. The controller is often used with the StorEdge D1000 SCSI shelf.

Attached is a boot log of Aurora SPARC Linux on this box. As part of the boot log, I've added the output of dmesg; note that the number of drives here causes the early stages of the boot to not show in dmesg. Drives sda through sdv on three ISP's fully initialized and running.

I commited a fix for .17 but it will take sometime to propagate. our feisty (.19) tree already has the fix.

What versions of the CD will this apply to? Will an install CD ISO for either 6.06 or 6.10 be respun, or maybe has one already been respun?

It's either for the next dapper 6.06 point release (date is unknow yet) or it should work immediatly with a netinstall (but i need to verify it first). Note that the bug is listed as Fix Committed and not Fix Released exactly because it still require that verification.

6.10 is very unlikely to be respun just for this bug.

Looks like these patches never made it into the edgy or dapper release. I'm going to close this report. Please reopen if this is still an issue against the latest Hardy kernel. Thanks.
