I suspect that your overheating is causing the crash.

Could you see whether https://help.ubuntu.com/community/DebuggingSystemCrash helps you provide any info?

kern.log.0 has APIC error on CPU0: 40(40) repeatedly.

memtest failing everytime sounds like hardware.

I'm sorry I assigned someone to this bug, I didn't know that assigning someone to bugs is no good.
you think it's a hardware problem. Can you explain me what this APIC error means. As far as I know it's a timer, good for dual processors.
What If I set the no-apic option when booting. Do You think that can help. It does not happen when I'm using fixed CPU speed 800 MHz. then this bug disappears. I think memtest fails cause its getting to hot. in urlier versions like dapper CPU slowed down when getting hot. In Edgy it's getting hotter and hotter up to 103 C°. Than crash. but this only sometimes happend. When I use powernowd -l 40. It isn't getting that hot so far, only when I don't use Mouse or Keyboard for ca. 10 min. Than it suddenly crashs, if I use a Screensaver or not, Powermanagement or no Powermanagement, 800 or 2000 MHz, watching a Movie or no Movie, when using no fix CPU speed, crash.

You think that's hardware, but in dapper I this didn't happen. In Edgy this happens since the first day of use.

I've know installed the linux-...-debug package, but that won't help You too? What kinda Hardware Problem can this be not compatible or dead?

Thank You for your reply.

Okay the Problem's gone. I've deinstalled beagle-desktop-search-daemon. This was causing the overheating after 10 min or something. Process was running using like 80 to 90 percent of the resources, by using more and more resources, when not using Mouse or Keyboard for 10 min or something.

Thanx for your help

Still I have to watch the processor's temperature. But that's okay. I have to use the powersave-govenor on resource hungry processes.
