Bug Description

Binary package hint: bash

I couldn't find any discussion about that. See debian bugs #65172, #146464 for more details. Shouldn't ubuntu have it's own policy for that?

no. the reason this is disabled is that bash can be used as a system shell as well, and we do not want to have net redirections in the system shell. see http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2006/11/msg00794.html for further discussion.
