Bug Description

Binary package hint: ktorrent

The infowidget plugin in Ktorrent displays extra information about a torrent. In the "Peers" tab view, there is a "Country" column that shows the flag of the country and its two letter country code.

After upgrading the distro from Dapper to Edgy, ktorrent was also upgraded. (version 2.03 using KDE 3.5.5) The new version of ktorrent always shows
"NA" in the Country column in the Peers tab.

This behaviour was not observed in the previous version of ktorrent. I had ktorrent from Dapper-backports repository previously and the "country" column behaviour was as expected.

This is not a bug, but rather intended behavior. The GeoIP database that provides the country->IP information is not available under a Debian Free Software Guidelines compatible license, and was hence removed. See /usr/share/doc/ktorrent/README.Debian for more info.
