Bug 709984 is the same as this one - only during the upgrade from 10.04 to 10.10

I have since looked what was reported automatically by Synaptic. It does not include messages which preceded the abnormal completion code.

It begins with "Openoffice is running already ...." I made the following note recently which it will help others.

110130 10:44 search in system processes - find openoffice.org-server.sh listed w/ user=docvert - kill it. Sort on user - find 2 more w/ that user - kill them.

Synaptic then succeeded with clean installations.
