Bug Description

Hi,
I'm using Edgy (since RC1) on my 640m, recently I updatet to Bios version A05.
I'm not 100% sure that it has something to do with the Bios-update.
Anyway, since then i can't change the Display brightness with the Hotkey Fn+UP | Fn+Down
The funnny thing is when i come back from hibernate, the keys work !!! but the hibernate hotkey don't work anymore ( Fn+F1 ), i can still go to hibernate by choosing it in the logoff/turnoff dialog.

thx for your help

He
Just tried it with my dapper and edgy life cds.
The Hotkeys work in dapper !
So it must be a edgy issue !
Something must have changed between RC1 and Final that causes this bug.

When I do that, the session is starting again to log in screen.

BIOS upgraded from MP061A02 to MP061A04

I can confirm this bug on a Dell C640. Definitely a regression since Dapper. The problem is: In which package?

A workaround that works for me is to switch a console, where the brightness-keys just work fine.

This is a problem on Dell Inspiron 6400 as well.

I've installed 915resolution to fix the resolution so I suspect this might be the culprit but I didn't test the keys before, unfortunately.

Andreas

Here on 6400 the keys don't work.
I don't know if it's due to my bios update.
