Bug Description
When I try to shutdown my edgy-system from the KDE by klicking the right mouse button and choosing "florian abmelden" and then "rechner ausschalten" (in english it would be like "logout florian" and then "shutdown computer" or something similar) the screen becomes black but nothing more happens. The computer doesn't shut down and the shutdown scripts are not executed. The whole behaviour is more like a crash of the x-server. Neither a switch to a console is possible. Everything is locked.
A shutdown is only available by ending the session and choosing "shutdown" in the login menu. Then the computer shuts down correctly.
The same problem is with "reboot".
What is wrong here?
Florian
I am having the same problem here, on a Toshiba Satellite A110-180. When shutting down / rebooting from KDE, the only thing I get is a black screen, and the computer stops there.
If I end the session in KDE and then in KDM I choose the shutdown / reboot option, it shuts down / reboots perfectly.
If you need any info (like a hardware list), I will be glad to help you ;)
BTW, this happens on a clean Edgy install.
