Bug Description
I've noticed, that in Ubuntu main there is only one, buggy (look at lots of crash-reports in launchpad) and unmaintained graphical ftp client - gftp. Gftp was abandoned by upstream - the latest version is almost 2 year old ! Besides this, gftp is not user-friendly :(
I think, that such buggy and unmaintained software shouldn't be in Ubuntu main, gftp should be removed from the main. Better ftp client, like filezilla (look at http://
Filezilla is very popular on Windows OS and upcoming version - 3.0 is multiplatform, there are already debian packages in unstable since late October 2006.

Well there are only 15 open bugs against gftp in launchpad. Late October 2006 isn't very long for main rather than universe. There are plenty of ftp packages in universe.
According to http:// gftp.seul. org/ the last release was April 2005 - so 18 months ago. This doesn't mean it's been abandoned - it's officially stable.
