Bug Description

There is problem with libxine-main file. Dapper use version 1.1.1 where is bug-> flac files not work in Amarok. Is possible that libxine-main version 1.1.2 resolved this problem, but it is not avaible from dapper repositories. Or this patch work also http://element14.wordpress.com/2006/09/28/play-flac-files-in-amarok-on-ubuntu/
But after this if I updating dapper patch is a gone because original lixine-main overwrite it.

Problem is also with others amarok versions and Dapper.

I am told that this is fixed in amarok 1.4.4 which is in dapper backports. You'll need libxine-extracodecs installed.

I can strongly advise you NOT to install random patches from the forums as they have not undergone any form of quality control and could be dangerous to your system.

Can you say what repositories I have to use? With my source list I can't find amarok 1.4.4. and kubuntu homepages has just edgy source for amarok 1.4.4.

You need to enable dapper-backports in your sources.list

In dapper-backports there is only amarok 1.4.3, not 1.4.4.

Amarok 1.4.4 isn't in dapper-backports: http://packages.ubuntu.com/dapper-backports/kde/

You're right, 1.4.4 isn't in dapper-backports. It's also not in the kubuntu.org repositories (see http://kubuntu.org/announcements/amarok-1.4.4.php ). It looks like the only way to get Amarok 1.4.4 is to use Edgy or compile from source, which might be too demanding.

Personally, I'd make the jump to Edgy, Pjotor. Let us know if there are any problems. Thanks
