Binary package hint: ubuntu-desktop

Hi,

it would be a tremendeous enhancement for ubuntu to manage a site like http://www.apt-get.org that keeps track of all the repositories containing packages for Ubuntu. It would allow to quickly and easily find the latest version of a needed package. More and more ubuntu users seek exotic applications from various repos, ie see this list:
