Bug Description

Binary package hint: linux-image-386

ACPI results work unreliably on my thinkpads (t40p and t41p). In general, a short suspend, followed by a resume will work, but a long suspension (overnight) will frequently fail to resume. These models of hardware have been well-supported for several years; this appears to be a regression between the edgy kernel 2.6.17-10-386 and 2.6.19-5-386 (and -6 as well; the problem occurs with both)

Let me know if there is any other information that I can provide, or tests that I can run.
thanks.

It looks like this was caused by a video driver bug. It is now fixed by the latest upgrade to the radeon driver. This can be closed.
