Kubuntu 6.10 live DVD - system freezes at startup

Bug Description

I got Kubuntu edgy 6.10 and Ubuntu 6.10. The Ubuntu DVD runs without problems, but when I boot with the Kubuntu DVD, my PC freezes (the desktop symbol is the last non-grey displayed).
(it is the 32-bit version)
My hardware is:
AMD 64 3200+
1024 MB RAM
Nvidia 6600 GT
Creative Audigy 2 ZS
usb keyboard and mouse (with usb hub integrated in monitor)

I had Kubuntu 6.06 installed before, but when I tried to update to edgy, the update failed and so I cannot boot the old system. Now after trying the live DVD I think there is a bug in this version.

I hope you will find and fix it.

We will need your help to fix this issue :)
Have you verified the integrity of the DVD? After you download the image, you can try to verify the integrity using the md5sum.
Also, can you boot using any alternative (Text-based etc) options - you can choose these when the computer boots up with the DVD in the drive.

Thank you.

I thought my burning program had checked this already, but as I tried the option in the start menu, there were some errors on the DVD - a new one worked without problems.
