Bug Description

Binary package hint: apache2-common

We have installed ubuntu 6.06lts with apache 2.0.55-4ubuntu2.

We want use SSL-Certificates, but in case of wildcard-certificates such as *.gral-bestellen.com (certificate is from rapid-ssl),
apache logs follow error:

"[warn] RSA server certificate CommonName (CN) `*.gral-bestellen.com' does NOT match server name!?".

Configured server names are www.de.gral-bestellen.com and de.gral-bestellen.com.

We found an apache issue: http://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=37911

Our last system upgrade was on 2006/11/23.

In hope for help,

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, I am closing it because the bug has been fixed in the latest development version of Ubuntu - the Gutsy Gibbon. It won't be fixed in previous versions of Ubuntu because the bug doesn't fit requirements for backporting.

Moreover, it's just a cosmetic warning. The ssl website is working and the certificate is used correctly.
