Bug Description
Binary package hint: linux-restricte
The 2.6.19 kernel and restricted madwifi driver now in feisty does not work with my laptop's (built in) wireless chip, an Atheros AR5005G according to lspci. I see "irq 19: nobody cared" from the kernel shortly after boot, and the card then doesn't send or receive packets. The message suggests trying the "irqpoll" boot option, but if I do that the system hangs immediately after the keyboard driver loads.
I am stuck on 2.6.17 (and therefore must put udev on hold) due to this bug.
I will attach complete dmesg output.

Since the kernel suggests trying two pci= options, I attach also the (somewhat different) dmesg output with both of them supplied. This makes no difference to the broken driver and no difference to anything else that I can see.
"irqpoll" and "irqfixup", to reiterate, cause a complete system hang after the keyboard driver loads (this is before initramfs begins executing, even)
