Bug Description

At the moment they have reached beta 8, and it seems to be pretty stable already. It contains a lot of improvements, like changing to GTK2, improved UI, and some features... see ardour.org
So will Ardour 2 be in Feisty?

I have tried Ardour 2 on Jacklab (compiled by myself). It appears to work and I would prefer to use it rather than the Ardour 1.

The Ubuntu Studio project has been in close contact with the Ardour team. Paul Davis would rather us not package a beta release.

Paul has said Ardour 2 is close to being finished. (around the end of the year) Universe freeze is February 7th so I think its a very good chance that we will see Ardour 2 Final in Ubuntu.

But remember, I am not part of Ubuntu Studio Development team, so I am not the person who is making the decision of its inclusion or not including it, so please do not take my positive comments about Ardour 2 versus Ardour 1 as any commitment for taking it.

A couple of weeks after 2.0 beta12, the Ardour team brings you 2.0rc1.
We hope to release RC2 within the next 7-10 days which will hopefully be the final release before 2.0.
